Genesis 1:1-2

In the beginning, God was everything and the earth was nothing: no light, no form, no substance.

Prayer: Dear Father, Please help me to dwell on Your creation power, Your awesome sovereignty, Your decision to create the heavens and the earth. Please humble me when I am proud and help me to remember I was made out of nothing. My existence is 100% and totally, all because of Your creative and awesome power.

Even today, after God has created the heavens and the earth, He is still everything and everything is still nothing, compared to Him.

Genesis 1:1-2 (RSV): “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters.”
